This weekend (23rd and 24th January) 'Castle's junior players again took to the court in style showing tremendous form for the second successive weekend. After the u16 girls and u18 boys qualified for the Top 8s weekend without dropping a set, this time it was the turn of the u16 boys.

The lads beat 'Castle 'B' 25-12, 25-13, Redhill 'A' 25-7, 25-17, and fellow qualifiers Nottingham Rockets 25-21, 25-13. The very young 'B' team again included a couple of year 8s and this time only one year 11, and after their defeat to the 'A' team lost to Rockets 25-20, 25-10 before beating Redhill 'A' 27-25, 25-23 in a thrilling match to finish in third place.

Then on Sunday the u18 girls played again in the Women's National Shield, making the long trip to Canterbury in Kent to take a convincing 3-0 and progress to the quarter finals of this competition. Great preparation for the 2nd round of the u18 girls competition on the 6th February.
