This Saturday!!

Come and make some noise for 'Castle!

Welcome to our club website!

Whether you’re one of our members or a prospective member, a parent or carer, I hope that you’ll find our newly designed website both informative and easy to use. You’ll read about forthcoming events, fixture dates and club achievements.

As Chair of Newcastle Staffs Volleyball Club I’m extremely proud of both our players and the ever increasing number of volunteers we’re privileged to have on board. Along with our dedicated number of coaches we strive to develop our playing members in their journey of play and collectively will endeavour to ensure that their time with us is enjoyable and rewarding.

Opportunities within the club are vast and we would encourage people to get involved. In addition to playing volleyball our volunteers are welcomed to support us with; fundraising, coaching, refereeing and scoring matches.

We endeavour to make volleyball accessible to all – come and join us!

The team took to the court not knowing what to expect but announced themselves in style winning all of their matches to secure a place in tier 1 for the second round of matches at the end of October. The results were as follows:

U-16 Boys and Girls Success at JuVole

Our U-16 Boys and Girls teams took part in the Juvole U-16 competition on Saturday. The Girls team triumphed, taking 1st place without dropping a set, and the Boys were not quite as successful, but still managed a creditable 2nd place. A great start for a promising season for our Junior payers.

Sainsburys School Games 2014

Well done to all the club members that were part of the Sainsburys School Games 2014!

The Club had 3 players, 1 official, and 1 organiser involved in the Sainsburys School Games this year - Tom Carter, Rich James, and Rosie Barley were the representative players. Tom was part of the England Cadet Boys that eventually finished 4th overall, a creditable result against predominantly older sides, Rich played in his club role of Libero (back court defensive specialist) for the victorious England Junior Boys, and to complete the playing trio, Rosie was a key member of the victorious England Cadet Girls side, who managed to complete a well deserved win in the final.

The 4th club member at the games - Rod Stockwell took part in his 8th games (every one since volleyball was introduced in 2007), teaching more people the intracacies of volleyball statistics and how to produce them.

Will Roberts was the organising part of the group. In his role within the Youth Sport Trust, this is his baby (away from the ones at home of course), and the end product was well worth all the hard work.

Although this event is very concentrated and leads to a great deal of fatigue to all involved, it is always a spectacle, and enjoyed by all that take part in whatever capacity.

If you were part of the crowd, we hope you supported all the athletes, more especially the ones from the club, but most of all we hope that you enjoyed every minute that you were there!

Hope you all enjoyed yourselves!
